Vikrum Aiyer is a political appointee and Speech Writer in the Obama Administration. Currently, he crafts messages for the President's Secretary & Under Secretary of Commerce for IP, where he frames the Administration's innovation and trade strategies. Aiyer attended the University of California, Berkeley and did his graduate work at the George Washington University’s School of Political Management.
FELICITATION
Sri Guruvayur Dorai has developed a style (bani) of Mridangam playing, that is unmistakably unique. The Guruvayur bani is most pleasing to the ear and very tough to master. In this style, the silky motion of the left hand creates water-like gumikis and the delicate stroking of the drum with the right hand causes the mridangam to simply sing where one can hear melody through the mridangam, and accompany not the singer, but the song-- to perfection.
Pallavita is proud to honor this veteran mridangist on the occasion of his 75th birth-year.
